Training for Warriors (TFW) Powered By SBG Athens is Athens GA’s PREMIERE COED fitness program. Using principles developed to produce some of the best athletes in the world; we are confident Athens best COED group fitness program will be a huge success!
Our goal is to provide a top notch strength and conditioning program for people of all ages and fitness levels. The program combines resistance and endurance training, core strengthening and various other muscle toning/fat shredding exercises. The activities in our classes are designed to be both challenging and exciting.
Those aspects breed a camaraderie that allows each member to rely on one another for encouragement while reaching a mutual goal. Beginners are always welcome! Our program is designed for all fitness levels, from being able to challenge the most physically gifted to providing a starting point for those just returning to the gym (or going for the first time)!

Every person in the TFW program will have different goals. Some have prior and current injuries. Some have personal information we will need to know about. All of this goes into the dossier – so that we are on the same page and can work together more efficiently. If you ask most gyms for your dossier – all they probably have is a folder with your contract in it!
Then we go over what foods you like and dislike. From there, depending on your weight, body fat percentage, measurements, and other factors, WE develop a CUSTOMIZED MEAL PLAN just for you!
During your initial interview, we also do a physical assessment, take your weight and some measurements. After you join we do a series of basic physical tests which we use as a starting point to later re-evaluate. All of these numbers go into your portfolio.
Working out ALONE is NEVER fun and breeds boredom, which is THE #1 reason most women abandon their fitness program before reaching their goals! Not only can a personal trainer be expensive in some cases, but exclusive one-on-one interaction may intimidate some women and it acts as a demotivation for others. It is EASY to call a single friend and tell them you cannot make it to a workout. In the TFW program, skipping a work out will hinder the PROGRESS of both you AND your peers. Our professional instructors will make you feel both COMFORTABLE and provide you PERSONAL service while not solely focusing on only your failures.
We are providing the ONLY program of this type in the Athens area! Our ONE hour classes provide our participants with flexibility and a minimal time constraint. The INTENSITY of our program helps you get maximum results in a reasonable time period. The DIVERSITY and UNIQUENESS of our exercises and training regiment prevents MONOTONY and the dreaded REPETITIVENESS while MOTIVATING you to come back next time for a NEW challenge.

About a year ago, I went to the doctor for a routine physical. I received the news that I knew was probably coming that I really didn’t want to hear. I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition and extremely high cholesterol. In my situation, both of these conditions are probably genetic. There is nothing that I can do about my thyroid condition. To remedy it, I needed medication. I didn’t like it but I had no other options.
My 15 year old son had started attending the older teen MMA classes at SBG Athens. I was already there watching him when I got the news about my cholesterol. My Dr. had told me that she would give me a couple months to lower my LDL (bad cholesterol) before she wanted me to start medication. She told me the only way it would happen is by introducing a lot of cardio into my almost non-existent exercise plan and making simple modifications in my diet.
I hesitantly started the Warrior Woman BootCamp program. The first couple of weeks, I really thought, I wouldn’t be able to make it through an hour class. It was TOUGH! I was convinced to keep it up for a month. It was a tiring, tough, but exhilarating month. At the end of the month, I was hooked. My body and mind needed the exercise. I was at that point one of the oldest women in the class. It is the best stress relieving, heart pumping, sweat inducing challenging class and I love it. The instructors know how to push and pull you to get the complete benefit of the class.
Talk about benefits, in 9 months I have lowered my LDL cholesterol level 60 points and lost about 15 pounds. I am only 5 pounds from my goal weight. My clothes look better. I feel better. I have muscles and a lot more endurance. My doctor is no longer talking about cholesterol medicine or weight loss. It is one thing that I can say I do just for me and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.”
